June 2009
A good friend mentioned that I hadn’t updated my news section for quite sometime, which is true. So here it is only 9 months since the last entry!
I have finally reached the milestone of 200 photographs on the site (only took me 4 years!) Shot number 200 was this photograph of the Clifton Suspension Bridge at dusk. As I’m learning more about photography I’m definitely getting more selective, shots that would have made it onto the site 3 or 4 years ago would end up in the virtual recycle bin these days. I’m debating whether to get rid of a few of the older shots to raise the quality of the photographs on this site over the quantity, what do you think?
I’ve also recently created a Flickr Photostream, I held back starting one off for a while, but now I’m actually signed up I think it’s a great way of sharing my best images for people who might not other wise not find this site.
Since my last news update I’ve added a variety of images, including action from a Rugby match in the sports gallery, a wintery shot of Burrard Bridge in the Vancouver Gallery, and a few London scenes in the U.K Gallery.
September 2008
So the summer is sadly pretty much over here in Vancouver, B.C - and I can tell you its been a good one. Thanks to all the people who made it over from the U.K to see me, (Steve, Faye, Pat, Dave and Chris) it meant a lot.
There have been some summer time shots added to the People Gallery cheers for the good times, Tofino, Whistler, Squamish and Radium - in true Canadian style it was 'awesome'.
You can also see some of the more scenic photographs in the Canada Gallery and of course the Vancouver Gallery - such an amazing city when the sun is shinning.
We have a few months of downtime now until the snow starts covering the mountains and another season of skiing and snowboarding kicks off - good times ahead. As always let me know what you think of this site by leaving a message in the guestbook - its always much appreciated.
June 2008
Since my last update I have made a few trips from Vancouver to Seattle, I have added some of the best photographs from my trips to the USA Gallery. My favourite is the one I took from the top of the Space Needle (opens in a new window).
Seattle and Vancouver are roughly the same size, and share a lot of similar geographical features, yet the two cities feel quite different (both have good points). If you travel to both cities in a day you will likely see what I mean, it's probably the best way for an outsider to notice the cultural differences between Canada and the U.S.
On a different note I learnt something valuable this month; don't try and clean your own camera ... get it done professionally .. that's all I'm saying about that.
March 2008
The start of 2008 has been a hectic time for me. I have moved back to Vancouver from Bristol, and have been busy getting settled in. There are a few new photographs on the site, have a look at the Panoramic Gallery for some views of downtown Vancouver, there are also some new photographs in the Vancouver Gallery. I managed to get some pretty nice photos of Science World at night and not get mugged (its a dodgy area) so a result all round.
Also this website is now three years old! Cheesy I know but March 5th 2008 marks three years since I took my first photograph with my Nikon Coolpix and uploaded it to the web. Here is that first picture of Lions Gate Bridge (opens in a new window).
Just to finish here are a few reminders ....
- Check out the locations of where some of the photographs are taken by using the Google maps feature.

December 2007
I haven't managed to get any new photographs on the website for a little while now. That's because I've been working too many hours and it's been too chuffing cold, December is a rubbish month . . . .
I have however spent some time developing several Google map applications for this site. It is now possible to see the exact location of where I took some of the photographs. I have currently developed maps for Bristol; U.K, Victoria; Canada and Vancouver; Canada and I will be developing more when I get time.
Have a look at the maps here, you can open the photograph by clicking on each of the markers . . . . . let me know what you think.
